Mystery Author Events for 2010

Here's what we're planning and hoping for -- check in with us now and then for confirmed dates, or sign up to follow our review blog at kingdombks.blogspot.com, where we chat most often.

January: Send us the names of the (living now in American) authors you'd most like to meet, and we'll add your thinking to ours as we invite guests for the year. Keep an eye out at the end of the month for Chris Bohjalian's SECRETS OF EDEN, a surprising Vermont murder mystery from an Oprah author who lives on the other side of the state.

February: Leighton Gage and his wife Eide are invited for their third author dinner here (Brazilian food!) as we focus on Gage's third Inspector Silva crime novel, DYING GASP.

March: Howard Frank Mosher, best known for his dark Vermont novels, turns to mystery in WALKING TO GATLINBURG.

June: Hope we can persuade Dave Zeltserman (and Judy) to come up from Boston. With PARIAH and KILLER hitting the big-time, we want to hear more about the creepy way his mind works on the page.

July: Prime tourist time in Vermont. If we hear from enough crime fiction fans, we'll plan "Open Saturdays" again.

August: Eliot Pattison's EYE OF THE RAVEN gets a January release, but he comes to Vermont in the late summer. Last time, people asked a lot of questions about his exploration of Buddhism and Tibet -- that's the other series, with Inspector Shan. We can discuss both ...

Autumn in Vermont: Women of Mystery -- we want them here! We have a list of possibilities ...
